The Peoples' Bible was a labor of love that stretched over five (5) years of collecting, analyzing, evaluating and making determinations on the strengths and weaknesses of textual variants.

The PDF versions of the Peoples' Bible are in the Public Domain. You may use this text with no restrictions, real or imagined.

The Flipbook versions of the People's Bible are protected by the DMCA. [Whereas we must protect copyrighted information we have been granted permission to].

We do ask, that in good faith, that if you could find it in your hearts to provide a DONATION (new tab) to this seminary project, we would be most appreciative.

This version of the Bible is not a new translation. Rather, it is text taken from two of the major (now public domain and very accurate) bibles that are already in publication. A third (also public domain) was used to help conceptualize textual variants. Each of these bibles were translated using a specific theory of text translation. We will mention this in subsequent paragraphs.

Here are the current versions:

How to use:

Flipbook - Will work on a PC or tablet. (not phone, unless large screen size). On a tablet you may need to 'scroll up' to see the controls. Select 'one page' from the controls to enlarge correctly on the screen. The Controls has an icon for 'bookmarks' to allow jumping from chapter to chapter.

PDF - The PDF file will work on PC and tablet. Most PDF readers (Adobe, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, others) will have a icon or menu item to show the bookmarks to allow jumping between chapters. The PDF should be compatible with 'most' eReader programs (Kindle, Sumatra, others). Most eReaders will also have an icon or menu item to view the bookmarks. The PDF is readable on a phone and tested with the Kindle App'.

The intent of creating this new bible text was to change how bible text, and differences, can be displayed for the reader. In traditional websites and written books, the most common method is to use footnotes, endnotes, indexes and cross references. This creates a painstaking task for the reader; a task where the reader must jump to and from many different pages, or books, then back again to the main text in question. This process was simplified in the creation of the Peoples' Bible.

Main Feature: In the text of a verse, all text variants are listed in color, and embedded 'directly' with the verse in question. This provides a scenario where the reader can evaluate the differences in the text of the verse and never leave the current page! As per tradition, we also kept the practice, within the New Testament, to list any Old Testament references that support the New Testament text. This is for those who desire to study and evaluate the links to Old Testament commentary and/or prophesies.

To our readers, there are three main textual theories, with a less known fourth, that dictate how the biblical text is translated. The main languages are Greek and Hebrew, from which the most common manuscripts are translated. There is also a Latin set of manuscripts.

The textual theories are MT (Major Text), TR (Textus Receptus), CT (Critical Text), and a variant of NU (which is CT using different manuscript sets). For the most part most bibles today are translated using either the MT or CT theories. TR fell out of favor in the late 19th Century. CT is the most common today, mainly to support the English easy reading texts. The most famous bible that used (uses) the TR theory in the King James Version (Public Domain in the United States, Restricted in the United Kingdom).

For more information on these theories of translation, please read the Text Theories Document (new tab) that goes 'ad-nauseam' into the subject.
