Our Base Theology:
This organization practices the faith within the context of the ancient Catholic (catholic) faith. We strive to reach the public as did the Apostles and their followers previous to 325AD. We fully recognize independent Catholic (catholic) organizations that provide valid Apostolic Succession documentation. While we publicly announce ourselves as Independent Old Catholic, we recognize much older aspects of the faith. We with great respect follow some of the precepts of the Utrechter Organization, as those practices predate the schismatic church.
This organization recognizes that it cannot, and does not desire to, bind the conscience of individuals in areas where scripture is silent. Rather, each believer is to be led in those areas by God, to whom he or she alone is ultimately responsible.
Within the context of the Catholic affiliation: Because we share many of the same ancient beliefs as the Old Catholic Churches (independent or part of the Union of Utrecht) we gladly support the Latin Mass (Tridentine), and Novus Ordo. The masses are presented in the vernacular.
Within the context of the Anglo-Catholic Affiliation: We use the Book of Common Prayer , which is a common element which binds all Anglican churches together. None the less, we do allow flexibility in the usage of other liturgies, as we believe it is the mission to reach all people of the Christian faith:
High Mass: High Mass, more rigid and formal, will utilize only the 1662, 1928 or UECC specific liturgies. The 1662 BCP must have the prayers to the English Monarchy and Parliament removed for US usage.
Low mass: Less formal and more open to all faiths, the Low Mass may use the AAC specific liturgies.
Broad mass: Described as more flexible and via media; that is it is liturgical between Anglo-Catholic and Anglican. Broad may use AAC specific liturgies, or the UECC specific liturgy of A1a.
The 1979 BCP is NOT Anglican in it's structure. The 1979 BCP is unique to the Episcopal Church USA. It's usage is not recommended. None the less it may be utilized ONLY for Low Mass and Rite I will be the only valid option. Right II is not to be utilized. Permission must be granted by the Presiding Archbishop.
We believe in the three pillars of: tradition, scripture, and reason as the cornerstones of our faith and that Holy Scriptures containing all things necessary to salvation. We believe the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed are valid statements of the Christian faith.
We believe in the 39 articles of Religion in the Anglican tradition. We believe the bible is the inspired word of God, written by man with the intention of drawing us closer to God. We believe in the fruits of the Spirit, which are: Love, Joy, Peace, Long suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control. We believe in the mystery of the Holy Trinity as God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Christ given Sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist as well as the five sacramental rites of the apostles: Confirmation, Reconciliation, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Anointing of the sick. We believe the sacraments are a means of God bestowing his Grace upon us in a direct way. We believe in the holy mystery of Christ's presence in the Eucharist, but do not seek to define it. We believe that all Christians should be allowed to take communion without exception.
We are here to embrace all people and not be the gate keepers of God’s kingdom. We believe that the whole of God's law hangs on the supreme commandments of Jesus to love God and to love others as our selves.
Our General List of Beliefs:
We believe marriage is between two consenting adults.
We believe that a woman should have the right to control her own reproductive system through the use of birth control.
We believe that our Lord Jesus is the one and only judge of humanity at the end of days. It is not our place to be judgmental.
We believe in the Trinity.
We believe the Eucharist must be open to all Christians.
We believe in the apostolic succession set down by the earliest church fathers.
We believe the bread and wine are the presence of our Lord. None the less, we understand the beliefs others may hold.
We believe clerical celibacy is a personal decision.
We believe that any adult who feels called to ministry should explore the calling and not be restricted by their age, gender, sexual orientation or marital status.
We are a faith community that is inclusive of all peoples and we believe that we are all equal in the eyes of God.
We believe God has called us to be the best stewards of the Earth possible.
We believe it is our Christian duty to love and help our fellow brothers and sisters, especially those most vulnerable, children, the poor, the sick, the elderly and the refugee.
We believe in the creeds set down by our forefathers - Nicene, Athanasian and Apostles.
We believe the bible contain all information necessary for our salvation.
